Ministry of Education : Centre asks states to fix six years as minimum age for class I admission
The Education Ministry has urged all states and Union Territories to ensure that the age of admission to class I is six-plus years from the 2024-25 session onwards. The initiative aligns with the provisions in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
